The Phantom Menace 3D Premier at Vue cinema Southport
Phantom Menace 3D finally hit our screens in February 2012 and we were there with The Galactic Knights at Vue Cinema in Southport, stood right on the prom in the horrendous icy cold weather but we loved every minuite of it. As this was TPM we had to take along Maul, the costume has been sat on a mannequin in the loft since Memorabilia so it was time to get it out and finally troop it. Knowing we had the costume almost sorted Jude set about trying to organize the make-up. We arranged a weekend were we visited Rob and Simon at R S Propmasters and we had a great day life casting all three of them. The idea was to get a life cast of Jude’s head so we could vacuum form masks to make templates for the Maul make-up. Unfortunately time got the better of us on the masks and we could not get the airbrush to apply the make-up as we wanted so this time I had to paint it on.
The night before the event arrived and we prepared to shave all Jude’s hair off. First we took it down to a ’0′ on the hair clippers and then we got out the disposable razor and took the whole lot off, sideburns too. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Jude without his sideburns before. I must admit I was terrified but he makes quite a nice bald man. That night he slept with a beanie hat on to keep his head warm.
On the day of the event we got up nice and early and set off for Southport. We had a good size changing room and after meeting up with old friends and new we set to with the make-up. This was the first time I had ever applied it, it took me a long time to do and I have learned a lot for next time. It would be so much faster with the stencils.
Amongst the other characters were Boba Fett, Jango Fett, Clones, Darth Vader, Stormtroopers, Jedi, an Imperial Gunner, Padme, and a Tusken Raider. After the event we all got to see the film.
Well done Jude.
We had a great day and we look forward to the next one. We are starting work on a costume to suit he Attack of the Clones. Watch this space.
The boots Jude is wearing with this costume are not accurate as he does not fit in the Titan 101′s we have, we are currently trying to source a pair to fit him, Titan’s are like gold dust to find in large sizes.
Memorabilia – November 19th -20th
Memorabilia event at the NEC Birmingham where we exhibited on the RPF & TDH stand. This was an absolutely fantastic event. Organized by Simon, Simon and Rob, there were over 27 exhibitors I think. A real collaboration of talent. There were sculptors, studio scale model displays, weapon builders, costumes, prop makers and Brian Muir signing. A fantastic display which really pulled the crowds. If you missed it this time be sure to visit the next one.
Jude and myself really enjoyed this event. We haven’t done a show for quite a while and this was our first time displaying at Memorabilia. We were displaying the ‘PAUL’ Boushh costume, Darth Maul costume which we re-made for the event and the Colin Baker Doctor Who costume seeing as Colin was attending. For the next event we will have to work on some new creations – watch this space…
We arrived at the NEC on Saturday morning and it was great to meet everyone from the RPF and The Dented Helmet, put faces to names. We were blown away by the work on display and it was great to hear everyone’s stories on their displays, the techniques used and tips on construction. The stand was a real success with the organizers and was presented with real team effort. We also got to meet lots of familiar faces out around the event too. Colin Baker was there which was nice, we haven’t seen him for a little while but he is keeping well and busy preparing for Panto. The highlight of the weekend for me had to be meeting Ladislav Beran (Kroenan from Hellboy). I am a big Hellboy fan and the Kroenan costume is at the top of my costumes to make list. I managed to get his autograph and a photo which will now take pride of place on my Hellboy shrine.
Fingers crossed this event will happen all over again next year at the NEC and Manchester.

Invasion Belfast – October 2011
In October we sailed across to Ireland to Invasion Belfast IV at the W5 Centre. Everyone was so welcoming, it was fantastic to meet up with old friends and new and have a great weekend celebrating everything Star Wars. Since our first visit things have gone from strength to strength. There were more fantastic photo backdrops to have your photo taken at, an AT-ST, a clone tank, a Y-wing, Ewoks, Yoda, celebrity signings (Jeremy Bullock and Femi Taylor) plus lots and lots of Star Wars characters. I costumed as Boushh in my ‘Paul” costume and Jude was Anakin getting dragged into the Jedi training school and being force pushed out. It was great, we thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to next one. Here are some photo’s from the weekend and of me meeting various characters. Enjoy!
